Kohlrabi Schnitzel

Kohlrabi Schnitzel

Use this recipe to prepare a quick and easy vegan alternative to Wiener Schnitzel. The Kohlrabi Schnitzel is breaded and fried in hot fat.

  • 2 Kohlrabi
  • 3 tbsp Flour
  • 9 tbsp Water
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Sunflower Oil

Step 1

Wash and peel the kohlrabi and cut it into slices of about the same size.

Step 2

Put some salted water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil.

Step 3

Cook the kohlrabi in hot salted water for three to five minutes until firm to the bite. Take the vegetables out of the saucepan and pat them dry.

Step 4

Mix nine tablespoons of water and three tablespoons of flour with a pinch of salt.

Step 5

Prepare a plate of breadcrumbs for breading.

Step 6

Turn the kohlrabi slices first in the flour mash and then in the breadcrumbs. Repeat the process if you prefer a thicker breading. Now put plenty of oil in a pan. Heat the oil and fry the individual kohlrabi schnitzel in it until they are golden brown.
