Candied almonds

Candied almonds

The tempting smell of candied almonds with a pinch of cinnamon is something you can smell everywhere on German Christmas markets and fairgrounds

This recipe creates a wintry atmosphere - and the almonds are prepared in no time!

  • 200 g almonds, unpeeled
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 ml of water
  • 2 packs of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Step 1

Bring the water with sugar, cinnamon and vanilla sugar to a boil in a coated (!) Pan.

Step 2

When the mixture boils, add the almonds and continue to cook on a high temperature. Let it cook until the sugar has dried - stirring constantly.

Step 3

Turn the stove down to medium level and keep stirring until the sugar begins to melt again and the almonds caramelize.

Step 4

Tilt the roasted almonds onto a baking tray (ideally lined with baking paper) and separate them immediately so that they don't stick together.
